35 years. A “Tribute” to Our Reggae Music

Pembroke Pines, Fl. (June 12, 2008) – In celebrating their 35th year of reggae music ambassadorship, the 10 times Grammy nominated reggae legends, Third World, will be releasing a special Tribute album later this year.

This will be the 20 album to hit the reggae scene, and it will be a special showcase of “Third World and Friends”. The album will have some remixes of a few of their past hits, some cover tracks of other recorded hits, as well as some new releases by Third World. Some tracks will be done solely by The Reggae Ambassadors, and the others will have collaborations with hit making Reggae Friends such as Capleton, Junior. Reid, Damian and Stephen Marley, and several others.

For the first time on CD, the only album documenting the musical affiliation of two reggae icons; producer Joe Gibbs with legendary vocalist Jacob Miller (1952-1980).
Presented for the first time; original 12" mixes with newly created, extended mixes that blend dub or deejay versions with the original tracks.

These classic tracks are re-worked &packaged with three additional Joe Gibbs’ productions which, appeared as b-sides to the original 12” singles.

All star cast of supporting players include; producer Errol Thompson, Sly Dunbar & Robbie Shakespeare, Cedric Brooks, Tommy McCook, Dennis Brown & Beres Hammond among others.
